The concert by the Leipziger Bach-Collegium is held in the beautifully restored Frauenkirche (pictured above). The programme comprises a series of bass arias by Johann Sebastian Bach, as well as instrumental pieces by Corbett, Albinoni, Johann Christian Bach and Carl Philipp Emmanuel Bach.
'Recreation des Gemüths' – recreation of the soul – was how Johann Sebastian once described music, and a very apt description it is!
